San Francisco Chiropractor Comments:
Chiropractic care should start at an early age. In my 15 years as a practicing chiropractor in downtown San Francisco, I have noticed something...the longer a patient waits to have their first chiropractic visit...the more back problems, and spinal degeneration they seem to have.
Life is hard on our bodies. Gees...when we are very little we fall hundreds of times per day. Then...as we get older we play sports and other activities... and really...spend the next 12-15 years sitting at a desk throughout school. Then...we go out in the real world, only to spend the next 20-40 years sitting at a desk or performing some other kind of work that is probably hard on our spines. It's no surprise that back problems are one of the most common ailments in our society.
A really good way to help counter these negative forces is regular visits to the chiropractor, starting at a very young age...say 2-3 years old. This way your spinal bones can stay in a more proper alignment all throughout the growth spurts reducing the likelihood of early onset of spinal disc degeneration and even scoliosis. I have a 2 year old daughter...and I have been adjusting her since she was born.
She will continue to get adjusted throughout her life and there is no doubt in my mind she will have better spinal heath and posture because of it. It is also not likely that she will develop any back or neck problems...it just makes sense...and is the smart thing to do.
