Consumer Report Says Some U.S. Cereals More Than Half Sugar
San Francisco Chiropractor Comments:
As the father of a 3 year old daughter, I am concerned about what she eats. Fortunately, she does not like meat, craves vegetables...and eats whole wheat cereals, like Post Shredded Wheat Squares with rice milk and fruit. This did not happen by accident either...my wife and I are very careful about what we feed her as she develops her eating habits and food choices...and it shows.
According to Consumer Reports, some of the most popular children's cereals are over 50% sugar and salt. For instance, a bowl a Kellogg's Honey Smacks has as much sugar as a glazed donut. Geez...no wonder we have a child obesity problem.
Anyway, I found the article at www.revolutionhealth.com. It is entitled:

It is nice to hear that there are parents out there that really care about what their children are eating. I agree with watching out for what they eat at a young age to make sure that they are in a good healthy habit when they get older. I did not realize how many cereals had so much sugar in it. Thank you for posting this Blog. It was very helpful and informative.
