Seven grueling months, 82 pounding games (with half of them
being on the road and some being played on holidays like Thanksgiving and
Christmas), and thousands of miles traveled in airplanes and buses. This is the
life of a typical player in the NBA. With such a rigorous and demanding
schedule, how does a player stay healthy and pain free? A definite aspect in
most athletes performing at their peak performance level is with Chiropractic.
John Stockton played point guard for the Utah Jazz for 18
seasons and was recently inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame. He played well
past the age of 40, and in 1996 he was selected as one of the "50 Greatest
Players in NBA History". He is also the NBA's all-time leader in assists
and steals. In an April 2, 2002 article that appeared in the Toronto Star,
writer Doug Smith asks a question concerning John Stockton’s longevity,
“”What’s the secret to your continued success on the NBA basketball court at
age 40?” Stockton responded, “A Good Chiropractor.” When asked to explain his
usage of Chiropractic, John’s response was, “I’m not a good enough expert on what
that (chiropractic) entails, but it’s not just the adjustments, its balancing
muscles and overall health.” John then added, “It’s been great for me, and for
my family.”
Several years ago
Scottie Pippen was playing in the NBA finals with the Chicago Bulls. Since the
Bulls did not have a chiropractor on staff, he paid for his own. Care was
administered to him at least once during the actual finals game and the Bulls
went on to win the Championship.
There's good reason
pro athletes are turning to chiropractic care. A study in 1991, published in
the journal of Chiropractic Research and Clinical Investigation, revealed that
chiropractic care can increase athletic performance by as much as 16.7% over
two weeks. Another study published in the Journal of Vertebral Subluxation
Research in 1997, revealed that chiropractic care increases your capillary
count, meaning increased blood flow. The benefits of increased blood flow are
substantial for any athlete.
Referees also benefit from Chiropractic.
Because of the physical grueling demands of officiating NBA games, Georgia DC
Dr. Levinson proposed to the referees a plan that would make chiropractic care
available to them in every NBA city.
Dr. Jacobs at Executive Express Chiropractic was
an avid basketball player in high school and college, and Chiropractic helped
him stay healthy through every season. It was also a big reason why he chose
Chiropractic as a profession. After hurting his back entering into his freshman
year of college in which he couldn’t run or jump, he tried anti-inflammatory
meds, muscle relaxers, and physical therapy, but nothing helped. He went to a chiropractor and after just
a few adjustments he was back on the court. Those chiropractic experiences kept
him healthy and changed his career path from more tradition western medicine to
the largest alternative natural source of medicine, chiropractic.
It’s no coincidence that the finest athletes in the world
choose chiropractic. They know something that many others still
don’t…Chiropractic works!

Interesting. I'm a sportsman myself and found that chiropractic helped me perform at my best too, nice article!

Chiropractic is best for the athletes. They always have a hard day on playing so their body takes damage everyday. Chiropractic treatment is the best way to be able to fix that damage.
