Serious Low Back Pain? Consider the DRX9000

San Francisco Spinal Decompression Doctor Comments:

Md_news_photos_011 Serious low back pain can really put a damper on your life. Even when you figure out how to live with it and get through the day...you still dread having to travel anywhere or venture out of your comfort zone...because the back pain might flair-up. Sure, some days are better than others...but it's always there.

Is there any way to break this vicious back pain cycle?

Yes...often times when all else fails...nonsurgical spinal decompression with the DRX9000 will help.

Lumbar spinal decompression was created to fill the void that exists between conservative low back pain treatments, such as chiropractic, medications, and physical therapy...and surgery.

However...the DRX9000 is NOT a Magic Bullet. You don't just jump on the machine one time and your chronic back pain is gone forever. It's actually quite a bit of work. The DRX9000 protocol is for 20 visits over a six week period. The sessions are 30 minutes with ice and muscle stim after...another 20 minutes. So, it's about an hour total for 20 sessions.

And, there is home care...ice, back support, and nutritional recommendations. Yes, the decompression protocol is intense. But...if your life is miserable because of chronic severe low back pain...what the heck...the potential reward is huge.

    Executive Express Chiropractic Buildout Update

Dr. Eben Davis Comments on Embarcadero Center Build-out:

Images1 I am meeting the architect and general contractor once per week at the new chiropractic clinic. It's amazing how all this stuff comes together. It took three months to do the plans, get the permits, and figure out what we were going to do...then they slap it together in 6 weeks...well, 7 weeks...we will see.

Anyway, things look good. Talk about convenience...this chiropractic clinic will be the ultimate. Embarcadero Center merchants and tenants...as well as anyone else in the SF Financial District, will just be able to walk-in anytime without an appointment, and know they can get in and out in a jiffy...with a very high level of care and comfort. Six days per week.

We will be going to extraordinary lengths to make sure that Executive Express Chiropractic becomes the place to go for back, neck, and wrist pain.

We will offer chiropractic services as well as nonsurgical spinal decompression with the DRX9000. The DRX9000 is the most advanced medical technology available today for the treatment of chronic back and neck pain secondary to disc degeneration, bulging discs, and disc herniations.

So stay tuned...and look for our Grand Opening specials somewhere around the first week in October.

Email Dr. Eben Davis with any questions or concerns at ebendavis@yahoo.com

DRX9000 Nonsurgical Spinal Decompression is on the rise

San Francisco Spinal Decompression Doctor Comments:

Md_news_photos_011 Three years ago when I brought the first DRX9000 decompression system to downtown San Francisco, hardly anyone knew what nonsurgical spinal decompression was. Now, most chronic back pain sufferers have at least heard about it...or so it seems.

There was a time when we had a 3 month waiting list for our two spinal decompression machines. Then, slowly, more and more doctors in the SF Bay Area began to purchase the DRX9000, as well as some of the other decompression systems.

This is fine, because there are way more patients that need lumbar decompression or cervical decompression than there are machines. The DRX9000 treats lumbar disc herniations, disc bulges, facet syndromes, and disc degeneration.

The DRX9000c treats cervical disc herniations, cervical disc bulges, and cervical disc degeneration.

Md_news_photos_010Nonsurgical spinal decompression has been getting a lot of press lately because of a Special Report on the DRX9000 that was based on preliminary research at some very prominent healing institutions. John Hopkins University, The Mayo Clinic, and Duke University participated in the ground breaking research study. Checkout this DRX9000 video to hear first hand what they discovered. Hint...The DRX9000 works!

Anyway...if you would like to learn more about spinal decompression, check out the left side of this blog for links to the Axiom Worldwide Decompression Blog, DRX9000 Protocol, and DRX9000 Patient Guide.

Severe Back Pain Not Responding To Chiropractic?

San Francisco Chiropractor and Herniated Disc Doctor Comments:

Axiom_marketing_dvd_159 If you have severe low back pain and chiropractic care is not helping, you may have herniated discs in your lumbar spine. In fact, herniated lumbar discs are fairly common...and chiropractic usually will help them. It just depends on the way the way the disc is positioned on the spinal cord or nerve roots.

Sometimes the spinal disc gets jammed up against a nerve and a slow motion chain reaction occurs...muscle spasms, inflammation, loss of disc height, loss of water content of the disc, degeneration, stenosis, and back pain...sometimes severe back pain...back pain that interferes with your life. And get this...this mostly happens with no symptoms. The symptoms come later and can trick you into thinking the problem just started.

In order to know for sure that you have a herniated disc in your low back...we need an MRI. If you have one already, great...we know. But if you don't...we usually try some chiropractic first to see if it will help. If it doesn't, we consider an MRI. At least that's what we do at Executive Express Chiropractic.

Why not just order the MRI right off the bat? Well...MRI's are expensive, and the standard of care is to wait...and it usually turns out to be the right thing to do. There are so many incidents of low back pain and sciatica...if doctors sent all of them for an MRI first, it would short circuit the medical system...the costs would be too high.

Typically, I consider an MRI after 3-4 weeks of gentle chiropractic if there is minimum response or the patient takes a turn for the worse.  And I have a next step in mind if the patient qualifies medically...nonsurgical spinal decompression with the DRX9000. After all...there aren't a whole lot of treatment choices out there for disc herniations. There's pain meds and muscle relaxers, cortisone injections, surgery, and physical therapy.

San Francisco DRX9000 Doctor Speaks Out About Costs!

Not all SF Bay Area Spinal Decompression Doctors Are The Same

Md_news_photos_011_2 Recently, I have noticed an increase in the amount of inquiries we get by email and by phone, that have to do with the price of spinal decompression with the DRX9000.

We will hear questions like this:

    1. How much is spinal decompression per session?

    2. What do you charge for the DRX9000?

    3. What kind of insurance do you accept for the DRX9000?

So...I would like to address some of these issues now. First of all, each case is handled differently at our clinic...Executive Express Chiropractic at the Embarcadero Center in downtown San Francisco.

L5sacrum_2 Some patients may have only a single level disc herniation...while others have lumbar disc herniations at every level. Some patients are young....some are older. Some patients have both herniated discs in the lumbar spine and herniated disc in the cervical spine. Thoracic disc herniations are rare...but often times they get picked up when we order a lumbar MRI...this complicates matters.

Anyway...to just throw a price out there, without having examined the patient, seems unprofessional to me. It's not like buying a gallon of gasoline. There is an art to making proper recommendations and setting patients up on the DRX9000. And, there are decisions that need to be made throughout the DRX decompression treatment process. Experience is key... and just like with anything else...you get what you pay for.

Herniated Lumbar Disc Getting Worse? Consider the DRX9000

San Francisco Chiropractor and Spinal Decompression Doctor Comments:

Md_news_photos_011 If you have a herniated disc in your low back, and your condition is not responding to chiropractic care, physical therapy, or medications...what should you do?

What if you know you have a herniated disc, but most of the time it is OK...do you need to worry it could get worse?

These are both questions and concerns that I am dealing with on a daily basis at Executive Express Chiropractic in downtown San Francisco. Here's my take:

If you know you have a herniated disc, it is because you had an MRI at some point...which means your low back was really bothering you and you probably went on some kind of treatment plan...and were given home care instructions by a chiropractor, PT, or medical doctor.

If your back got better and you stuck with the home care...maybe the pain never comes back, because you know you have the herniated disc and modify your lifestyle to prevent further injury.

However...if you do all of this and the herniated disc pain never improves, or only improves a little..or keeps coming back...now you should be concerned.

Sometimes disc herniations take on a life of their own and get progressively worse and unresponsive to conservative treatments. This can be scary...and could lead to a serious downward spiral.

This is where nonsurgical spinal decompression should be considered.

Chiropractic, DRX9000 Spinal Decompression, or Surgery?

San Francisco Chiropractor and Spinal Decompression Doctor Comments:

Axiom_marketing_dvd_126 I try to stay current on back pain news and treatment options...so I read a lot of reports, blogs, and news stories about low back pain, and neck pain. One thing for sure...back pain in general is sort of a mystery.

Ten patients can have the same exact mechanical lesion...say a lumbar disc herniation at L5...but they all present with a different set of signs and symptoms...and for the most part the cause is unknown. Heck...some people have a disc herniation and never even know they have it because they have no symptoms.

One of the main reasons I like what I do so much is because chiropractors are not focused on treating symptoms. We are focused on restoring proper spinal alignment and function...the symptoms improve as a by product. We know what the optimum position of the spine should be. And we know if we can move the spine closer to this optimal alignment there will be less pressure on the nerves and the body will be able to heal itself.   Lot's of times this is easier said than done...especially with disc patients.

Sure, we are not always able to re-align the spine...sometimes a patient's back is so inflamed we can barely touch it. But we have other tools to deal with this...tools like the DRX9000 spinal decompression machine.

The DRX9000 lumbar decompression machine, and the DRX9000 cervical decompression machine, help the spine to do what it would if it could...pump and hydrate the spinal discs. I call it a respirator for discs.

DRX9000 for L5 Lumbar Disc Herniations

San Francisco Spinal Decompression Doctor Comments:

Axiom_marketing_dvd_109_2The most common lumbar disc to herniate is the L5-S1 disc. The L5-S1 spinal disc is the disc in between your 5th lumbar vertebrae and the sacrum...your tail bone.

The L5-S1 lumbar disc absorbs more load than the other lumbar discs (L1-L4) and therefore is more prone to injury.

Most of the patients that we treat at Executive Express Chiropractic in downtown San Francisco have a primary disc herniation at L5-S1. Our method of treatment is the DRX9000 lumbar spinal decompression machine, made by Axiom Worldwide.

Not everyone that has a herniated lumbar disc needs spinal decompression...only those that do not respond to conventional chiropractic care, physical therapy, or other conservative treatments. I usually give chiropractic a fair chance to deliver results...but if chiropractic fails to achieve a favorable outcome, we consider lumbar decompression with the DRX9000.

Md_news_photos_011If the herniated disc is at L5...we set the machine to target the L5-S1 disc level. The DRX9000 is able to actually isolate on a specific spinal disc...unlike regular traction which pulls everything.

How hard we pull is determined by your body weight, your overall physical condition, and whether or not you are in acute pain or not. Typically, we start off very easy and work our way up. Usually patients enjoy the DRX sessions...some even fall asleep. My patients tell me it sure beats cortisone injections.

Anyway, if you have been diagnosed with a herniated lumbar disc at L5-S1, and would like to find out if you qualify for the DRX9000...you can find a doctor near you by going to www.axiomworldwide.com. They have a doctor finder tool.

If you live or work in the SF Bay area and would like a complimentary consultation at Executive Express Chiropractic at the San Francisco Embarcadero Center...simply call 415-392-2225, press 1 (24 hr live operators). Lumbar Disc Herniation Treatment Options

San Francisco Spinal Decompression Doctor Comments:

Axiom_marketing_dvd_114What are your treatment choices if you have been diagnosed with a herniated disc in the low back that is unresponsive to conservative care, such as chiropractic, physical therapy, medications, or acupuncture?

Here are the most common treatment options:

    1. Do nothing.

    2. Cortisone injections.

    3. Spinal discectomy (remove the herniated disc fragments surgically).

    4. Surgical Spinal fusion (fuse it all together to stabilize).

    5. Surgical laminectomy (remove part of the lumbar vertebrae-usually for spinal stenosis).

    6. Artificial surgical disc replacement.

    7. Nonsurgical spinal decompression.

Most of the herniated disc patients I consult with have already tried doing nothing. Some have tried cortisone...and the majority do not want to have any kind of spine surgery, which is why they are meeting with me.

Nonsurgical spinal decompression is a non-invasive, drugless procedure that is done on a very expensive computerized machine, that was designed and built to treat disc herniations. Spinal decompression technology is not perfect...but nothing is...especially spine surgery.

So yes...Lumbar disc herniations that do not respond to conventional conservative treatments can be helped without drugs or surgery...with nonsurgical lumbar decompression.
